GREEN CORK | COMMON FOREST PROJECT

CorkWay project has a partnership with GreenCork ( www.greencork.org ) from Querqus (www.quercus.pt), a non-profit association that has been supporting Portuguese Environment for almost 25 years.
We plant a tree for each product we sell, so we need your help for this green campaign!

COMMON FOREST PROJECT is a Quercus project that aim to create and take care of woods of native species, trees and shrubs of the original Mediterranean flora. Through collaboration with various organizations and volunteers, seeds are gathered to produce plants, trees, the woods are taken care of and the Portuguese forest is recovered.

COMMON FOREST PROJECT Objectives:

• Breed indigenous trees and shrubs, including some rare species or endangered species;
• Reestablish the native shrubs on public and private areas through the planting / sowing and use of natural regeneration;
• Provide native plants grown in nurseries for use in projects of nature conservation;
• Develop of an environmental educational component, including through the establishment of botanical parks of native species in public and private spaces;

• Involve public and private entities in developing the project, through activities that demonstrate the culture of environmental responsibility.
